Strathfield Good Food Guide : Food Guide 2010
October 2010 | 3 Bon appetit! elcome to the inaugural Strathfield Good Food Guide, a feast of fabulous ideas for great dining on our doorstep. The advent of the TV show MasterChef has seen an explosion of interest in good eating. Now Strathfield’s place in Sydney’s vibrant food firmament has been confirmed with our inclusion in the Crave International Food Festival, the city’s premier culinary event. Strathfield Council has this year launched the Taste International Food Festival to coincide with our Spring Fair as a push to get those in neighbouring suburbs to lunch and dine with us. Our recognition for great international cuisine is long overdue. Our entrepreneurial restaurateurs serve up specialties from far and wide – from Korea, China, India, Lebanon and Japan. Our town square and other eating areas are abuzz every evening with crowds who flock to our international eateries, coffee houses and patisseries. Strathfield is one of Sydney’s great multicultural municipalities, and sharing food is a great way to form new friendships and create community. I hope you use this new guide to try as many of our great dining experiences as you can.
